About Us
SLPS Aastha Charities collected donations from the SLPS community in June 2017 and were able to purchase school supplies to fill 400 backpacks for Irving ISD. 300 backpacks were donated to Irving ISD, 75 to CFBISD and 25 backpacks were given to the staff of SLPS for their children. This year, the Aastha Committee has a target of 1,000 backpacks to be donated to these districts but also add on other districts. Data shows that the top 5 poorest ISDs in the DFW area are as follows: Dallas, Ft. Worth, Irving, Arlington and Grand Prairie. These districts have been contacted and so far Dallas and Irving are very eager to receive donations from SLPS.
KEY PROJECTS
Dear SLPS Members,
One of the SLPS Aastha’s projects this year was to have a School Supplies Drive for students in our area. Starting in June, we collected over $10,000.00 from our community members and we are very proud to say that more than half of the proceeds were donated by our Senior Committee. They were very generous in donating with their hearts towards this great cause. There are countless other people to thank in our community and SLPS Aastha, Irving ISD and Carrollton ISD sincerely thank everyone who donated towards the backpacks and supplies.
Getting the backpacks packed with supplies was also a big undertaking, and we can’t thank our Youth Committee enough for their time and efforts. There were also several community, Aastha and WAC members who came out to help sort and pack the backpacks on August 2nd. This project was only successful due to the collaborative efforts of our SLPS community.
We have touched the lives of 400 students and their families to have a very successful start to their school year.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
